If I can make it there...

While spending some time with my sis and her man in NYC over the long weekend, here is what I accomplished!

Of course I also did ENORMOUS amounts of non-tourist sightseeing, but sometimes the sparkle of the gemstones is just as exciting to me than the stickiness of the city. It was especially sticky this past weekend in NYC, and it wasn't because I clogged my host's toilet (while home alone, of course!). Long story short, thank goodness for cell phones and boyfriends who answer them.

While with my sis, we found some wonderful vegetarian restaurants, ate the most amazing falafel and hummus (more than once), Afghani, and delicious mushrooms and seitan at this joint, which I've surprisingly been to before on a previous trip! I swear I saw perhaps the largest Whole Foods on the face of the planet and got lost briefly... just because I had nowhere to be and no plan of feeling an ounce of hurry the entire weekend.

I walked for hours on end, contemplating various forms of existence, capitalism, and the forming ouchies on my feet. My time in NYC was brief, but it was such a great way to relax and do no more than what was in front of me. A fabulous weekend and a wonderful opportunity to participate in the most basic necessities of life: sweat, eat, and buy gems.
